The SAFE-PRO long sleeve grey v-neck T-shirt offers protection from knife cuts, tears, scratches and bites. It also offers a level of puncture resistance and is one of our thicker weight protective items. This is the latest in our range of protective clothing but now instead of using Para-Aramid we are using Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene.

UHMWPE is a velvety, soft material that is extremely light but also strong enough to protect from knives, scratches and bites and when used as a material it is  classified as a super-plastic.  These fibres have an incredibly high tensile strength compared to many other thermoplastics and they are even much stronger than steel (high-strength steel is c.900MPa and in UHMWPE it is c.3000MPa).  This incredible strength means that this material is not just used a protective clothing but it is also for containers as well as ropes and nets in the shipping industry.

Once this material is twisted or sheared the resulting fabric is a very soft and useable thread that can absorb energy and protect from knife cuts, bites, scratches and similar and once made into clothing you get an extremely high wear/resistance low weight product with an incredible strength.

This Bladerunner Safe-Pro top incorporates a layer of anti-slash, cut proof protection to give added confidence to security professionals who never know what is around the corner and what they might be confronted with.  The level of knife attacks are increasing at an alarming rate in the UK, Europe and all over the world.  

With the worldwide publicity around such attacks growing by the day we find that as well as security professionals our products are being purchased by serving Police Officers, members of the public, health care professionals and anyone else that feels the need to protect themselves from cuts and slashes of knife attacks.

We have used a weight of 290GSM of this material to produce a cut protection level of A5 to ANSI/ISEA 105-2016 which means that a weight of more than 2,200 grams is required to cut through this material and compares to level 5 of EN388 2003 and level E of EN388 2016. 

This material is made up of 50% Polyethylene, 30% Polyester and 20% Cotton and is machine washable with similar colours on a cold, gentle cycle.

BITE PROTECTION: This item offers level  2 puncture resistance in accordance with EN388: 2003 which means it will also offer protection against bites and scratches.

STAB PROTECTION: Please be aware that this product is cut proof and slash proof and is not stab proof.
