Designed with Police forces in mind, although not limited to the Police, this glove is lined with Bladenoma® ultra-high anti-cut material giving over EN388:2016 level 5 protection. This glove is not only cut resistant but it is also bite resistant and protects the hands againgst pinches and scratches.
Manufactured from 100% Polyster softshell Black the palm is made using synthetic leather Amara which is reinforced with genuine cowhide with a foam lining.
The wrist strap is elasticated and has the "Police" logo embossed with a Velcro closer.
The thumb and forefinger on each hand include Touchscreen material enabling the use of a phone whilst still wearing the gloves.
BITE PROTECTION: This glove has been subjected to testing at an authorised UK laboratory where it achieved level 2 for puncture and bite resistance under the standards shown below.
KNIFE PROTECTION: Tested at an authorised UK laboratory this glove achieved level 5 blade cut resistance. Level 5 is the highest level achievable under this standard. The glove is not stab-proof (please see our stab proof body armour section for stab proof clothing) as generally a stab proof glove would not be practical as it would prevent any flexibility in the hands and fingers.
These gloves have been tested to EN388; 2016 + A1: 2018 using an independent UK test laboratory and achieved the following results:
- Abrasion resistance: Level 2
- Blade cut resistance: Level 5 (The test could not be completed as the material blunted the test blades)
- Tear resistance: Level 4
- Puncture resistance: Level 2
Level 5 is the highest level achievable.
In view of the inability to complete the blade cut test under EN388: 2016 + A1: 2018 the gloves were sent to a seperate laboratory for testing to a higher standard 6.3 using EN ISO 13997: 1999 where the gloves achieved level B
